As some of you may know, my “muse” requires handwriting all of my manuscripts. I can type very well, and essays/blogs/etc are easy enough on a keyboard. However, for my fiction, it’s handwritten all the way. It’s just always been my thing and I don’t dare change it. I also require a bracelet on my right arm. It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of bracelet, but it should be one that doesn’t have to be removed at night. Right now it’s a braided cord that my mom gave me for Christmas. Give me my bracelet, a notebook (college ruled tyvm) and a pen (blue ink, please, medium point, preferably a Bic, Papermate smear too much for me) and I’m good to go.
That being said, I’ve had a project going on and off since I was about fifteen. It’s been rewritten, gutted, reformatted, you name it, over the years, and I’m really wanting to finish it. I think. Finishing it could be sad because I’ve been “living” with these characters for over half of my life and I think a lot of them will end up dead at the end. But that’s how the story goes.
So I’ve been typing up a storm. I’ve finished typing part one and most of the “prologue” parts. I think I will end up merging parts one and two into one book. Part three is also written, and part four is started. It’s a fantasy/scifi type good vs. evil story. I like it. And so far people that I’ve trusted with totally raw copy have liked it as well. As I get parts polished I might post more of it. So far its title is “The Entity and the Shadow” but I don’t like that. I know the title isn’t the important part, right now it’s just a folder to save stuff under. But one day I’ll have to come up with a good name for Jay Sansvol’s story.
Who knows. Maybe one day my magnum opus will be published, too. That would be above and beyond amazing.
